FAQs

When did your church start?

The Legacy Church Farmington campus was launched in March 2014, but the process began years earlier in the hearts of our pastors. Eric and Melissa have long carried a desire to pastor a vibrant, Spirit-filled church: a cross-cultural, cross-generational community that loves Jesus, embraces the Holy Spirit, and empowers people to make a Godly impact in every sphere of life.

When do I need to get there?

This is different for everyone. If you’re the kind of person who wants to get settled in before the service begins, it is a good idea to arrive about ten minutes early. Especially if you have children that will need to be checked in at our Legacy Kid’s Ministry. If you are more comfortable being fashionably late, that’s all right too! We still recommend arriving by the start of the service [10:00 am] so that you don’t miss out.

What’s a service like?

Walk through our doors and you’ll meet people from all walks of life and from all corners of the earth. We’re truly a multi-cultural and cross-generational family, one that values the history, perspective, and unique insights of every generation. Legacy Church is built on a passion for and pursuit of God’s presence. Every week we will begin with music and singing – worship. Worship is simply our expression of our love for God and our declaration of who He is. We worship with passion, faith, and expectation. Each Sunday, a member of our teaching team will also share a practical, relevant message that unpacks the truth of Scripture and how it applies to every facet of your life. You’ll hear the redemptive message of the gospel, find your place in God’s unfolding plan, and be inspired to live out your faith in a way that reveals Him to those around you. And if you have kids, we have excellent programming to make sure they are safe and enjoy coming to church too.

What’s available for my kids?

Your kids are as important to us as our own. We guarantee a safe atmosphere where your kids can have fun and learn about Jesus. We have trusted volunteers and staff creating great environments for all of our kids, and we have a place for the whole family: Nursery, Toddlers, and Elementary [grades K-5]. Our Nursery [0-4 years] is open the whole service and our Elementary kids are released before the message. We also have Family Sunday on the 4th Sunday of the month where our elementary kids stay in with their families for the whole service. To speed up the check in process you can pre-register your kids on our Ministries page. Legacy Youth [grades 6-12] meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

What should I wear?

We want you to be comfortable, and you are invited to come as you are. Most of Legacy dress casual or business casual. Whether you prefer a suit or jeans and a t-shirt, you are welcome at Legacy Church.

Where do I park?

We meet at the Irving A Robbins Middle School in Farmington. When entering the school grounds, look for the large parking lot by the field. Walk towards the patio area and the room with all of the windows and follow the signs to the main entrance. Once you are inside the building, our internal signage will guide you to the auditorium where we meet.

How do I join the church?

Just start coming! To be an attender of Legacy Church it is that easy – just begin attending. If you decide you would like to become a member of Legacy Church, the Growth Track will take you through the steps to becoming a member. What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17)

We believe in the triune Godhead as eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (2 Cor. 13:14)
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed Blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His present priestly ministry. (Ro. 1:4; Matt. 1:18; 2 Cor. 5:21; Matt. 4:23,24; Ro. 3:25,26; 1 Jo. 1:7; Heb. 7:25)
We believe in evangelistic and missionary fervor and endeavor. (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15- 18)
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We further believe in the keeping power of God. (Heb. 9:22; Jude 24, 25; Tit. 3:5)
We believe that sanctification, holiness, and the overcoming life are God’s design for the Church, which is the Bride of Christ. (Eph. 5:25-27)
We believe that sexual purity is a necessary expression for all of God’s children, and requires abstinence from adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, and other sexual relationships or practices forbidden by Scripture. (Heb. 13:4; 1 Cor. 6:18; Lev. 18:1-30; Gal. 5:19)
We believe that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime, and a sacred institution established by God. (Matt. 19:4-6)
We believe that since mankind is created in God’s image, human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, from conception to the grave. (Gen. 1:27; Ps. 139:13, 14)
We believe that water baptism is for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and is to be administered by immersion, thus bearing witness to the gospel of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection for us, and our own new life in Him. (Matt. 28:19; Ro. 6:4)
We believe that communion, when shared by believers, witnesses to the saving power of the gospel, to Christ’s presence in His church, and looks forward to His victorious return. (1 Cor. 11:23-26)
The theological framework for understanding all of God’s dealings with mankind is to be found in the divine covenants revealed in Scripture.
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as on the day of Pentecost, and in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, as evidenced in charismatic gifts and ministries, and in the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. (Acts 2:4, 10:46, 19:6; Eph. 4:11; 1 Cor. 12:8-11; Gal. 5:22,23)
We believe that divine healing is obtained on the basis of the Atonement. (1 Pet. 2:24; Matt. 8:17)
We believe in Christ’s imminent personal return in power and great glory, and in His present and everlasting dominion. (Acts 1:11; Rev. 1:7; Dan. 7:14)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto eternal life, and they that are lost unto eternal punishment. (John 5:28, 29; Rev. 20:15)
We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every believer to, within his ability, support the local assembly with his regular presence, giving, and service. (Heb. 10:25; 2 Cor. 8, 9; 1 Pet. 4:10)
We believe that tithing, accompanied by free-will offerings, is God’s ordained method to finance the spreading of the Gospel and the needs of the local assembly. (Mal. 3:812; 2 Cor. 8, 9)

The church of Jesus Christ is the last instrument that God is using to extend His kingdom prior to the second coming of Christ. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:20-23; 3:10)

The local church is autonomous, that is, it is self-governing, self-supporting, and self- propagating in its mature state. (Acts 2; 13:1-4)

The biblical form of church government is a plurality of elders with a Lead Pastor who all qualify on the basis of 1 Timothy 3 in spiritual life, character, domestic life and ruling ability.

Every believer in Christ must be subject to God’s authority in a specific local church for spiritual protection and long-term fruitfulness. (Hebrews 13:17)
We believe in the public gathering of the Church together for prayer, worship, teaching and preaching of the Bible and the administering of the sacraments of the church. (Acts 2; I Corinthians 11; Hebrews 10:25)
